Features of Podia vs Kajabi
1. Course Creation, Structure, and Delivery
Podia
When it comes to course features, Podia allows you to set up unlimited courses and have unlimited customers.
When I was using Podia, the feature that attracted me the most was pre-launching my products. However, Podia doesn’t charge any transaction fee.
Coming to course tools, Podia may give you a major setback as you’ve no pre-designed course structure and you’re supposed to start from a blank whiteboard. Nonetheless, it allows you to host three types of e-content with ease:
- Online courses
- Digital downloads, videos, etc.
- Webinars
Kajabi
Coming to Kajabi, in my experience, I’ll declare it as an all-in-one, self-sustained, and powerful online course cum marketing arena.
Like Podia, it doesn’t charge any transaction fee but it has course ceilings based on the plan you opt for and it allows you to have only a limited number of members.
Unlike Podia, Kajabi is embedded with admirable product blueprints and well-built templates that are highly customizable and user-centric.
You needn’t start from scratch but if you’re an experienced course creator and are familiar with creating content, you’re free to start from scratch as every magnificent artwork starts from a simple dot.
Kajabi allows you to host three types of course content:
- Mini-course
- Evergreen Course
- Webinars
Verdict
Both Kajabi and Podia are robust platforms for creating and selling your e-content. While Podia allows you to host unlimited courses and unlimited customers, Kajabi imposes a ceiling on both.
On the other hand, when you’re supposed to start from scratch in Podia, Kajabi offers you pre-made and extensively customizable templates.
Hence, as far as course features are concerned, declaring one as the winner will be solely dependent on your preferences and business requirements.
2. Video Hosting
Podia
It’s really difficult for my students to digest the course content in the absence of eye-catching and interactive videos. Hence, I attribute a considerable priority to this feature.
Podia allows you to upload unlimited videos without a file size limit. However, it’s recommended to keep the file size below 1GB.
Moreover, Podia lacks certain sophisticated video player features like quality adjustment, etc.
Kajabi
Kajabi uses Wistia for video hosting. As far as I’ve used it, it comes with an admirable streaming quality. You can host unlimited videos but you’ve to adhere to the size ceiling of 4GB.
Kajabi video player offers your members an automatic quality adjustment feature where the video quality will be automatically adjusted in sync with the internet speed of your users that will ultimately result in hassle-free and uninterrupted playback.
Verdict
Both Kajabi and Podia allow you to host unlimited videos but in my opinion, Kajabi holds all the cards when it comes to more refined playback features like an automatic quality adjustment that will offer your customers a hassle-free video experience.
I get frustrated when I see my videos endlessly loading and breaking at intervals and so, I’d recommend you Kajabi if you’re planning to create a course content focusing more on video files.
3. Member/Student Progress
Podia
As far as I remember using my Podia dashboard, you’ll be able to view individual student progress in terms of videos watched, course completed, completed quizzes, etc. by clicking the customer profile.
However, Podia tracks the progress of your customer only when they watch a video, attempt a quiz, or complete the course. You cannot track partially completed contents, half-watched videos, and quizzes left in the middle.
Moreover, Podia doesn’t offer you a complete data analysis of the same and you’ve to sit for hours analyzing individual student performances that’ll drive you nuts in the end.
Kajabi
Coming to Kajabi will provide you with an easily comprehensible, eye-catching, and well-arranged progress report of all your students as a whole. You can also check the individual performances through your dashboard.
Kajabi with its ever-so-powerful analytics tool tracks lesson progress and video progress and provides you Kajabi overview reports that clearly states student progress in terms of completed contents, partially completed contents, and incomplete contents.
Moreover, the feature I liked the most is student segmenting. You’ll be able to track the inactive students and analyze the reasons for the same- it may be because of your complex content, lack of interactiveness, or anything else.
This will serve as your progress report and you’ll be able to identify and settle such discrepancies with immediate effect.
Verdict
When it comes to effectively tracking and powerfully analyzing the progress of your members, I’d say that Kajabi has an upper hand over Podia.
While it offers you precise, up to date overview reports of student’s progress, Kajabi converts it to an analysis of your performance.
4. Assessments/ Surveys/ Quizzes
Podia
While I was using Podia, it frustrated me that I could assess my students only through multiple-choice questions.
However, one of my friends was happy about this feature as his course was designed in such a way that only multiple-choice questions will suit it.
It simply means that this feature is a boon for some and bane for others and it solely depends on your course structure.
Moreover, your students will be able to view their score before proceeding to the next section and you, in the capacity of an admin, can view the performance of each student through your dashboard.
However, you’ll be able to see only completed/incomplete quizzes and not partially completed or opened but incomplete quizzes.
One of the major drawbacks of this feature is as I had mentioned earlier, you cannot assess your students through a short-answer or paragraph type question.
In addition to that, your students won’t be able to upload their assignments or submit any link/file as an answer.
Kajabi
When I shifted to Kajabi I found that Kajbi will let you assess your students via a variety of options like:
- Multiple-Choice type questions
- Multiple-option type questions
- Checkboxes
- Fill in the blanks type questions
- Paragraph/Short-answer type questions
- Images, etc.
You will be able to provide long answer/essay-type or research-based assignments to your students and they can submit their work in the form of PDF, Word document, Excel sheet, image, audio, video, links, or any other format.
You’re also enabled to set up a custom grade requirement to proceed to the next session or to continue the course.
However, if you aren’t interested in the same, you can set the grade flooring to 0 and your students will be able to continue irrespective of the marks they score.
With powerful email integrations, Kajabi automatically sends the test result to your students via their mail and you can also set custom email notifications for your students that will notify them of their assigned works and deadlines.
You can add a personalized survey sheet anywhere on your site- i.e. on the product page, sales page, thank you page, course page, or quiz page so that your clients can offer you valuable feedback based on which you can make timely modifications in your content.
Verdict
When it comes to assignments, quizzes, and surveys; I’d like to declare Kajabi as the winner. The ability to assess students via different question formats and email notifications makes Kajabi a cut above Podia.
5. Digital Product Themes
Podia
Coming to product themes, I’ll say that Podia themes are oversimplified. It will offer you only three default themes- i.e. normal, light, and dark with limited or no possible customization.
I’m a liberalist and I cannot afford to compromise freedom for anything else. Here, you’re deprived of your freedom of customization.
Moreover, you’ll be able to make only very basic and extremely fundamental alterations to the main theme. Some of the alterable domains are:
- Heading and Body font
- Background color
- Text color
- Branding shade customization, etc.
Kajabi
In contrast to the oversimplified Podia themes, Kajabi offers you a colossal theme library with:
- Six impressive website-builder templates
- 20+ landing pages templates
- Customizable marketing email templates
- 10+ course/product theme
These themes are not as static as Podia themes but are easy to customize, unbelievably flexible, and user-centric.
Who doesn’t want to be unique? This feature will allow you to use different themes for different features and the Kajabi theme editor and code editor glorifies this feature.
Verdict
Coming to product themes, it’s undeniable that Kajabi is an unparalleled winner. With a plethora of eye-catching themes, it also allows you to edit them and customize them in sync with your business requirements.
6. Website Builder
Podia
When I started using Podia website builder, I was dumbstruck seeing a whiteboard as clean as a whistle in front of me. Didn’t get me?
Well, Podia requires you to start from scratch and you don’t have pre-designed templates and that’s gonna eat up hours of your valuable time. As mentioned above, your theme choice is limited as you’ve to choose from Simple/Normal, Light, and Dark.
Above all, you are supposed to choose pre-designed blocks to add to your website like:
- FAQs
- Testimonials
- Product
- Subscribe/ Email newsletter sign-up
- Column, etc.
The greatest demerit of this feature is that you won’t be able to add your blocks to your website. Again, it frustrates my liberalist soul.
Kajabi
Coming to Kajabi, first of all, you’ll be provided with six impressive, dynamic, and scintillating website-builder templates that come with unlimited customization.
Its user-friendly editor and dynamic themes are well pronounced in the arena of e-resources.
In contrast to pre-built, static blocks of Podia, you’ll be able to add:
- A beautiful site header
- Video background/ Moving background
- Custom forms
- Call-to-action buttons
- Future updates and highlights
- Testimonial
- Sales page
- The blog page, etc.
to your website and you are also enabled to set pop-ups, lightboxes, and custom blocks to your website.
Verdict
Comparing the features of websites builders of Podia and Kajabi, it’s obvious that Kajabi offers you much much more than what Podia can offer and this makes me declare Kajabi as the winner.
7. Landing Pages
Podia
In my experience, Podia fails to differentiate between a website builder and a landing page builder.
After hours of taxing hard work if you manage to create a landing page, you’ll be disappointed to find it to be similar in design and structure to your home page. Moreover, Podia doesn’t offer you any templates or designs for building your landing pages.
Kajabi
Coming to Kajabi, it offers you about 20+ eye-catching and customizable landing page templates. Its sophisticated landing page builder will enhance your conversion rates and ROI.
Being pre-designed, you’ll be able to create an adorable, impressive, and alluring landing page with the least effort from your side.
Verdict
Declaring Kajabi as the winner when it comes to landing pages doesn’t even require a second thought for me. Podia even fails to differentiate its website builder from the landing page builder.
Fully customizable landing page templates and a sophisticated landing page builder makes Kajabi a much better choice.
8. Email Marketing
Podia
As far as I’ve used it, the in-built email marketing feature of Podia has only very basic capabilities. It lacks a sturdy email management system and you cannot set automation rules for email marketing. In my experience, you’ll be able to perform only two basic tasks:
- Send emails to students
- Trigger a basic marketing campaign
However, you’ll be able to segment your members based on:
- Pre-launch signup
- Course/Product purchase
- Subscription, etc.
Kajabi
When it comes to Kajabi, in my experience, it’s well-built with much more refined email marketing features. With 15+ fully customizable templates, it offers you seamless and powerful analytics that will keep you abreast of:
- Number of clicks
- Number of views
- Delivery rate
- Product purchase rate, etc.
You’re also enabled to add interactive buttons, videos, and count-down timers in the mail.
Moreover, the Kajabi email marketing provides you with a subject line validation that will validate the influence/power of your subject line and offers you suggestions for improving the same.
Also, you’ll be able to schedule webinars or events and notifications and reminders regarding the same will be triggered automatically.
Finally, you’ll be able to track the spam rate of your marketing/promotional emails and your email notifications and you’ll get valuable suggestions and expert opinions in avoiding the same.
Similar to Podia, you’ll be able to segment your members based on much more refined yardsticks like:
- Subscribers
- Inactive members like those who haven’t opened your mail for the last three months or so
- Undelivered mail
Or you can create custom email segments like:
- Use coupon code
- Visited your site within the last 48 hours, etc.
Verdict
When it comes to in-built email marketing features, Kajabi is the real winner. In contrast to a simple mailing system, Kajabi brings with it more powerful and refined features that are required to propel your business forward.
9. Sales Funnels
Podia
What’re sales funnels? It’s nothing but marketing campaigns that will aid you in selling your products online.
Coming to Podia, in my experience, the entire concept of sales funnels is confined to email drip campaigns that include a link to your product sales page.
It lacks sophisticated techniques to create sales funnels and Podia, as always, upholds its simplicity.
Kajabi
Coming to Kajabi, you’re provided with six pipeline blueprints for:
- Sales pages
- Freebies
- Product launch
- Coaching activities
- Webinars and events
- Books
Moreover, you can start a pipeline either from scratch or you can seamlessly edit the fully customizable templates and mold them to your requirements.
With its advanced AKA automated email marketing campaigns, you just need to schedule an event and everything else will be looked after by Kajabi.
Your subscribers/members/clients/contacts will get timely email notifications, reminders, and promotional emails that are automatically triggered.
Finally, you’ll also get a well-structured analytics report for your marketing campaign.
Verdict
Coming to sales funnels, it’s pretty clear that Kajabi is the clear winner. With its AKA automated marketing campaigns and fully customizable pipeline blueprints, Kajabi proves to have an edge over Podia.
10.Live Events, Virtual Summits, Webinars and Livestreams
Podia
Coming to event management, Podia will offer you:
- Webinar support
- Integration with Zoom
- Integration with YouTube Live
- Scheduling events and a custom event calendar
- Automated sales pages
- Remainder emails by integrating with third-party mailers
Kajabi
Coming to event management, Kajabi will offer you:
- Live events, virtual summits, evergreen webinars support
- Add countdown timers to landing pages and emails
- Custom email notifications, reminders, and promotions
- Fully customizable webinar pipeline
- Automated visual funnel builder- automatically creates registration, confirmation, sales, and thank-you pages and emails
Verdict
Coming to webinars and events, I’d like to declare both as winners if we consider only hosting. However, if you’re interested in email reminders and promotional activities, I’d go with Kajabi.
Nonetheless, Podia can cover this demerit with its powerful integration with other email marketing service providers. Therefore, I’d declare it as a deadlock.

Ease of Use
Podia
In my experience, Podia is a user-centric platform and is unbelievably friendly to debut content creators.
The Podia dashboard is festooned by a simple easily-comprehensible array of tools and features and has a plethora of explainer resources.
Kajabi
When I shifted from Podia to Kajabi, it was frustrating in the beginning. An All-in-one dashboard with dozens of built-in applications and hundreds of options to choose from will leave you utterly confused.
The complexly arranged dashboard and most of the salient options may be unnoticeable to an amateur eye prima facie.
Verdict
Coming to ease of use and user-friendliness, I believe that Podia is a cut above Kajabi. With its simple dashboard, Podia overshadows the complex Kajabi dashboard thronged with hundreds of options and dozens of in-built features.

One can choose as per one’s need and budget. Podia users also like its creative program section and functions as it helped them in creating videos that can also be converted into an online course.
There is one thing that customers want that Podia should have a free version to test and understand its working and functions.

However, if you consider the features of both Kajabi and Podia, it’s obvious that Kajabi has more sophisticated features and is worth the cost.
Therefore, I’d suggest you Podia only if you’re a debut course creator and like me, you can shift to Kajabi after your business gains considerable momentum.
